First trialysis catehter

Last night during a moonlighting shift in the MICCU, there was a patient who was apparently in cardiogenic shock and anuric despite on lasix drip. He then developed severe metabolic acidosis. Urgent dialysis is needed. As it was already around 10pm on a Friday night, IR was not available. A trialysis catheter had to be inserted at bedside. Personally I've observed one long time ago and no experience of putting one in myself. Thankfully there was a cardiology fellow who gave me guidance throughout the procedure. A right femoral vein trialysis catheter was inserted successfully with no complications. Patient was then started on CRRT.
