New home at Zionsville, IN

After we know that we are moving to Indy for Mark's new job as a cardiology fellow, a house-hunting trip has begun. Originally we'd like to just rent an apartment. However, those nicer apartments on the canal (like we used to live from '09 to '11) show no availability until July when my fellowship already starts. Moreover, partly because those apartments are highly sought after these days, the rents are just going to the roof these days: a two-bed room may cost $1500. And this is Indy we are talking about.

With frustration and desperation, we turned into searching a home to buy. Mark's dream is always to live in a single-family house, with a nice yard to do some gardening work. This is like a true American dream. We did not really have a lot of time to research ahead of time and we only had one day for the showing. On that day, we went to like a dozen of showings. Luckily we found a good house toward the end of the day (the very last showing). Then it has been a long negotiation battle before the price has settled down. This is followed by home inspection. And then follows another round of negotiation: you fix this, I pay for that...blah blah blah. It looks like everything is kinda settled down now. We are not at closing yet, but it will, hopefully soon, in early June. 

Below is a nice picture of our future sweet home. It is located at Zionsville, IN, just at the I-65 exit. It is in a nice and quiet neighborhood. About 20 min to work. Downside is that you will need a car to get around. This means Amy will need to drive. Fortunately this is not Chicago. Driving supposedly is quite easy here. 

After closing, there will be moving, furniture, interior design work...Still a lot to do. But, it is going to be worth all the efforts, we think!
