An Inconvenient Truth
During his "traveling global warming show", former U.S. vice president, Al Gore, has successfully disseminated some striking facts, probably the most astonishing of which is: Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, devastating coastal areas worldwide. If that is true, half of Taipei basin and most of the west coast plain area of Taiwan would be inundated. I cannot even imagine that!
"Inconvenient" by definition, "not convenient especially in giving trouble or annoyance", precisely points out the keynote. Despite the malicious impacts global warming has brought, people would rather ignore them. In 20 years, our children may ask us: "What were you thinking?", "Why didn't you do something to stop it?"
What are you going to say to them?
